What a Year It Has Been
It has been a year! I have not posted in a long time due to all the craziness of 2020. We started off with rumblings of a pandemic. Then we found ourselves smack dab in the middle of it all. I made room to make masks, and more masks, and more on top of that! I had actually created a pretty good template for myself which I hope to make public at some point. But then I didn’t feel like doing anything else. I definitely got the pandemic blues. I remained in my house with my 2 cats and 2 dogs watching too much TV and having a little bit too much wine as well. Let’s not even talk about all the baking I did and the fact I now can’t fit into any pants without some stretch to them!I didn’t make much in terms of new clothes. Spoiler alert: you will likely see more reviews on pants in the coming months. I did, however, try my hand at creating some new patterns from scratch.
My theme for this year is that I am going to remain hopeful. Even though I may have eaten my way through the latter part of 2020 with a gleeful abandon without regard to how my clothes were fitting, I also picked up some new interests like figuring out how to create my own patterns. I would like to see the mask template become available as one of my first designs. Seems easy enough anyway. That I can make that available to all of you this next year. I just need to figure how to get that pattern into a range of sizes and then into a PDF to sell on this site. I also got back into knitting. Where this will always remain a sewing blog, I do plan to showcase some of my knitting projects as well.
As we get deeper into the year 2021, I have decided to remain hopeful for the things I can create and what I can bring to everyone in the coming months. Where we are seeing the pandemic numbers roll in like a roller coaster, we see the light at the end of the tunnel with more people wearing masks and getting vaccinated. I think there is good news still yet to come this year.
For me, I plan to bring everyone new content as much as I can. There will be a new section soon called “Adventures in Design” where I will talk about all the things I am doing to create my own sewing patterns for my own pattern line. While I still plan to review and discuss other sewing patterns, I want to finally make all the pretty things I see in my head. I will primarily make women’s clothing, but I think I may venture into the world of mens clothing. Maybe, if we are very lucky, I will go crazy and make a matching dog outfit for those of you adventurous enough to want to go forth into public with matching clothes with your #1 best friend.
Keep a look out each week for new content. I am thinking about doing a double this week, but I just haven’t decided yet on what that will be.
